Originally from Cheshire, I attained an art foundation with distinction at Manchester before moving to Brighton where I completed an Honours Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I am lucky enough to live by the sea in Newhaven, East Sussex with two adored cats as part of my family but am also based in Altrincham. Cheshire. I can often be found painting plein air in the summer with a borrowed doggy companion. My paintings are an exploration of rich colour, mood and light with a special interest in reflections. I enjoy painting any kind of subject matter such as still life, seascape, landscape although my particular favourite is people and pet portraiture. Every one of my paintings is a unique one off piece. I work with all kinds of subject matter for exhibition purposes and particularly enjoy the challenges involved when working to specification on a commission. I have worked for clients both in the UK and Europe. Tuition and workshops I regularly run workshops both online and in my local area. Workshop themes include painting animals, drawing, landscape, seascape, collage, portraiture and general painting techniques in watercolour, acrylic or oil. I having been teaching children and adults for many years, both as individuals and in groups of up to thirty, including students studying to GCSE and Degree levels. Art to me is anticipation, excitement, exploration, frustration, surprise, meditation and achievement. I teach to help others explore their own creativity and experience the same joy that I feel when working at my art. My aim is to share my knowledge and techniques to assist students to find their own way of working, experimenting with the many different types of media available. I have an AET level 3 teaching qualification.
